Conductor Dr. Robert J. Ambrose is a versatile musician who pursues a wide range of professional activities. Dr. Ambrose currently serves as Director of Bands at Georgia State University. Under his direction, the GSU Band program has received worldwide recognition.
Dr. Ambrose is in constant demand throughout the US and the world. Dr. Ambrose has been engaged as a guest conductor, teacher, master clinician, and lecturer recently in Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan as well as across the United States.
Dr. Ambrose is Founder and Music Director of the Atlanta Chamber Winds and the Washington DC based National Chamber Winds.
Dr. Ambrose studied at Boston College, Boston University, and Northwestern University, where he received the Doctor of Music degree in conducting.
Have you wondered about what it is that a conductor does? Are you interested in learning the skills it takes to conduct a large or small ensemble? This one week class will provide you with the necessary skills to lead your own ensemble!
Topics will include conducting technique, score study, and basic musicianship. The course will be taught by internationally celebrated conductor Dr. Robert J. Ambrose
